Still trying to get from scattered thumbnails to an actual new comic. In the meanwhile I’ll keep experimenting with media. (click to see larger)

Another yellow ochre/burnt ochre/turquoise blue experiment. It may be time to branch out into other combinations. Or maybe I’ll fill this little sketchbook first. When I’m home again, I’ll scan it properly. But, see, I really did do some drawing at Starbuck’s yesterday, even if I was too tired to finish and post. Update: Added [...]
Same as yesterday’s, but in colour. I’m still learning how to use the coloured pencils. Some of the pencils used here are actually the watercolour ones I’m more accustomed to, but I mistakenly used a non-waterproof ink for the black outline. So this wasn’t quite the look I’d intended, but I’m learning as I go. [...]

I fell asleep last night before scanning and posting a sketch for today. I’ll have something before the day is out. I might be helping out a friend at her table at Bronx Heroes Con today. Being surrounded by lots of comics and energy should be inspiring. Update: Here’s a little scribble made during a [...]
I was going to complain that it was difficult to draw Seianti again but then I realised that, no, it was pretty easy to find her face. Those swatches to the left are Copic colours (my T0 pen is all dried up). Palusbuteo requested I draw Seianti with “sexy bedroom eyes,” so: Done. Not depicted [...]

I started doing a little scribbling of panels on the subway, but that environment is really not conducive to creating art, what with the crowds, noise, and people trying to sit on your shoulder. This is…sort of sequential…?
Scribbles from a Moleskine notebook. In which I’ve recently discovered that I have absolutely no idea how to use non-watercolour colour pencils. Much happier with how the Copics at the bottom turned out. There’s a little pencil in there too Click to see larger. But even if I’ve figured out heads, I should figure out [...]
It is very, very hard to get back into drawing again. I’m just saying. Like, even perfectly oval, simple faces are hard. So, here are some new pens I’ve brought out to play…
Sketch of the day: Leonardo da Vinci and I go way back
by klio on March 20th, 2012Maybe the cave paintings were just sketch-of-the-day scribbles by cave-people testing out their latest order of crushed red ochre and charcoal from Jetpens. Or maybe I didn’t know how to draw a horse with a brush pen. These are more scribbles torn out from the notepad earmarked for scribbling and tossing away. 1) I needed [...]
