Sketch of the week? Month? In any case, a digital doodle (click to see larger if you’re curious). I might tinker with the face a bit. Because it’s digital and I can tinker at will! Whoo!

Also, I am sick. Boo. But not, like cat-bite going-to-hospital sick, so I hope to be up and about and drawing a comic tomorrow.
sketch of the day: Venus in pencils
by klio on July 27th, 2012Just a quick sketch. Might tinker with the proportions more. Extra commentary below ![]()

I’ve noticed that I’ve been getting some ads for Kickstarter campaigns in the sidebar. It seems like a lot of the campaigns for comics projects are to print them, not develop a project. I’d love to do a really nice, gorgeously professionally printed edition of chapters I-III in one volume, with revamped art, a fancy colour cover, and some extra material (what actually happened during that incident when baby Mus and a goat nearly destroyed the legion’s HQ?). It wouldn’t be too expensive to print, but a Kickstarter campaign to cover about half of the upfront cost—on a sort of pre-order model—would definitely help get it done. Might even get it printed in time for NY Comic Con. What do you think of the idea, internets?

Stalling for time, or stalling so the old girl can go out the window? Naww, I see Calatoria standing on her dignity… she really Does need to dress and do whatever makup and hair can do for her… the difference between a patrician hag and Medusa in this case.
Calatoria has been trying to achieve Medusa superpowers for years. Maybe she’ll finally achieve it with the use of the right set of combs and lead-based face powders.
Huzzah! More SPQR blues! I had to re-read the whole thing to celebrate.
Huzzah to you too–I love hearing that someone’s reread the story
I’m working on the next couple of comics now, and the first one probably will post tomorrow evening. (Crazy day job, crazy week!)
It is a great story, and bears re-reading. Understand that “life” often gets in the way of comics.
It’s so nice to see them going again!!! I check back every couple of days so there are several to read.
Hi – Pencils are sloooowly moving along for the next one. The day job has been doing its best to use all my creativity
