Chapter V: LII
It only took three Photoshop crashes and four system restarts to get this one scanned, lettered, and shaded 😛
After I’ve had some rest and recuperation from fighting the laptop, I’ll write a little bit about what they’re up to in this scene. Well, something like this. The construction might be a little different.
You know that really is pretty cool.
Imagine having to do that in triplicate.
Fascinating.
Something about the figures in the background of the center panel reminds me of the work of artist Frederick Richardson, who illustrated a lot of L. Frank Baum’s work (“Wizard of Oz” and many others), back in the early 1900’s. Also other illustrators of the time, whose names I don’t know. I’ve always loved that period, maybe because I had books from that time that had been passed down to me through my family.
This – in theory – also allows us to wax poetic!
