Chapter V XXXXIV-XXXXV
FINALLY got the site working! I HOPE!
For a while I’ve haven’t been able to post a comic its proper place in the “new comics” position. Something in the latest software updates broke the site, which I believe is cleared up now–at the loss of some functionality, but we’ll see how it goes.
So, I spent the morning troubleshooting instead of drawing. Le sigh.
Hooray! Welcome back!
We’re just glad to see pictures and story!
Yay! Thanks for your efforts – we’ve missed this bunch of Romans
welcome back!
Glad to see you back.
Poor Mus: You really-really don’t want to catch the eye of a paranoid ruler. Eventually they’ll decide you’re their enemy. In fact, they’ll go out of their way to MAKE you their enemy. Ahh well, just makes more wet work for Felix. And he thought he was a retired assassin/accountant.
FYI gang – She’s still having issues w/this format – those of you who love SPQR blues, check live journal for updates. Click ‘LJ’ link @ the top of this page and play catch-up
Thank you for mentioning that! I got the site up and running again continuing from here (spqrblues.com/V), but I haven’t figured out the best way to give the interface a smooth transition from the old part of the site to the new one.
I’m still having trouble with the underlying programming, but I can usually trick it into posting a comic.
THANK YOU AGAIN!
Happy to be of service!
Curious if the name Tadio was pulled from some source in particular!
I have a list of names from graffiti and documents from Pompeii and Herculaneum, first century Roman literature, and epitaphs, but I don’t remember right now where I found Tadio. I’ll have to look back over the sources! I think the name came up either in a biography of Domitian or a poem of Martial’s. 🙂
welp, guess I’m caught up now! very much hoping the comic will continue — I love Romans, and find them endlessly fascinating. so much of who we are came from them…
Did you continue on with the link through to the rest of the chapter? (If not, there’s more story to read!)
There are two installments in progress for the weekend–I had a bit of a setback when I accidentally left the pages at the drawing space I use occasionally. I’m pretty scatterbrained….
heh, I can relate on the absent-minded. I lose me head if it wasn’t stuck on me neck. yep, did eventually find that link, so am all caught up for now. w00t!! this rocks.
also found your adventures in period pigments and paints to be most interesting indeed. there’s no such thing as too much knowledge!
