Chapter V: XXXII
This is as shaded as this comic is going to get in 2015, so I declare it (for now) finished.
And, while we’re here, a reminder to take a look at reader Pab Sungenis’s Kickstarter campaign 🙂
A bear and a bear walk into a palace…

Felix as a trained bear. A killer bear, not your run of the mill ursus arctos arctos (eurasian bear like sweethums) but a ursus arctos horribilis (grizzly bear).
I bet both Titus and Domitian would have loved to have a Grizzly bear for a pet.
I love that Felix forces Titus to say it outright. Not that he doesn’t know which bear Titus is talking about.
As C. S. Lewis said about that lion, “‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good.”
Traveling in Israel over winter break, I wanted to tell you that I keep thinking about your wonderful illustrations and this fabulous story as we visit the Roman ruins.
Having the illustrated story is such a powerful way to relate to the history. Thank you.
