Chapter IV: CCXXXXVI
Here’s the next comic, final panel still in pencils while I argue with a map (which happens more than you’d think).
This comic includes a character I’d promised to put in maybe two years ago. (Not the horse. The horse is new to the cast.) So, finally.
To those who read ancient Greek: Please remember there were regional variations. That said, gentle corrections are appreciated!
Don’t take shelter man, Ride-ride like the wind! If you have to go down, go like a soldier, not trembling in terror under a boathouse!
Of course, we’re talking about Talicus, who bullies little boys and folded like a cheap toga when Felix whalloped him in the nose…not much of a soldier….
Well he might have a change of heart at the end and die like a man. Or maybe somebody else will seize his horse and ride away to safety…
Allright, awready! We’ve been waiting allll Weeeekend! It’s been forever. We Neeeed more SPQR story-with-pics, riiiight now! Purty please? DRW
This is totally off-topic, but it’s a surprise (or perhaps not?) to know that you are the DRW from New World Arbalest. Nice stuff. Sadly, as historical crossbows for reenactment are so exotic, the law is too far behind and full of holes, and prevents me for having one 😛
Going back (more or less) to topic I have shoot or helped to shoot several pieces of Roman artillery, including inswinging ones, for example, this one:
