Chapter IV: CCXXXXIII (top row)

_w_o_o_d_: Oh this is really bad. This is what they call volcanic bombs, right?
And Grandfather is still there ? How could he possibly make it out of there now?
klio: Oh, don’t worry, it was much worse in Pompeii. Which is probably completely obliterated at this point, so don’t go look. And, also, you should probably worry.
This page has a very sinister looking photo of a volcanic bomb, and also a diagram of a stick figure getting hit in the head by an orange.
Apparently flaming oranges are much more dangerous in a different type of eruption than this one, but I still wouldn’t want to get hit in the head by one, no matter which type of eruption it is.
Grandfather is much more spry than he looks.
No, I’m not telling the truth. He is not spry at all.
While you’re at it, wrap your skull in many layers of tight linen gauze, so when it explodes from steam pressure you won’t lose any pieces (not you Spewed-on, you can go as you are.)
I wasn’t even going to mention the whole boiling thing.
You can survive anything if you hide in a refrigerator, right?
Yes, a bonafide lead-lined Frigidaire is the ultimate survival vehicle. Escape pods on Princess Leia’s ambassadorial ship were built to the same principles.
I read the bit about volcanic bombs… 64 cm in diameter is like… two feet and a bit. That’s big… and hot. Maybe they can just load grandpa in a wheelbarrow, covered with green hides, or kitties or something. whatever they choose, it’s really past-time to get going. The pyroclastic cloud will come down Real Fast. Eagerly awaiting more!
So Klio: have you seen the film Kingsmen? It has almost nothing to do with volcanic eruptions, but some rather charming head-explosions, with colorful little mushroom clouds, set to happy music! Just your sort of entertainment.
I HAVE seen Kingsman, in fact. The things I didn’t like so much about the movie were way more than outweighed by the things that were fantastic fun. I approved 🙂
Spry or not, I suspect grandfather will make a Herculanean Effort!
Ow. Jokes like that might get you tossed in the lockup with Calatoria.
