Sketch of the day: In which I am not able to colour inside the lines
Copic markers are fun to play with, but on the papers I’ve tried so far, I end up with white speckles. Fabulous artist Alitha suggested playing with them on a printout on plain old cheap copier paper; and in fact they blend well and the paper holds up to lots of Copic-related abuse, but it still speckles. I’m not motivated to buy Copic’s own brand of paper to see if it works better.
Yes…probably more annoying than interesting. But what I really wanted to say is that I like the grayish color of the little girl’s clothes, because I suspect they started out white but she has managed to get them thoroughly grubby (crawling into jars, hunting for kittens, and all the other Important Stuff she’s been doing all day).
I’m sure the family servants have long since given up on keeping her fluffy cloud white and sea foam green and robin’s egg blue dresses bright and pretty. They probably occasionally grab her and make her wash her feet and bend her ears, brush off the cat hair, and send her on her way.
