Mystery MICE
Took a day trip to Boston for MICE (the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo), where two affable but mysterious young women were asking folks to draw sketches on the theme of libraries and books, for a school library display for students interested in comic art or . . . something like that. They didn’t quite completely explain it. Table-mate Stephanie Yue and I shrugged and drew something anyway.

I know you created the Roman soldier sketch for the library, but is there a way that a teacher (that’d be me, a Latin teacher) might be able to use it in the classroom? It’s a public high school, I do teach Latin, I’d give attribution, and I’d just like to put it up on the wall. Maybe have one of the students color it. That’s it! But I will respect whatever you say not the matter.
Oh, absolutely you could. But I don’t have a scan of it, only a photo. When I’m back at my home computer I’ll see if I can post a higher resolution version.
I’m thinking of creating a colour poster version… I think I like this soldier fellow 🙂
Thank you very much! I will check back & be in touch!
Two PDF links above. Let me know if either of these works!
They were just dandy! Gratias tibi ago! I believe they will enjoy this just as much as our lurid discussions of the sponge on a stick, and the depilator at the baths! A teacher’s got to have the fun stuff to whip out when the grammar gets overwhelming for them.
I love these – especially the “Pillage a Library” guy (with “spqrblues.com” on his caliga for good measure)! Is he Vibius, or just Vibius’ second cousin who looks a little bit like him?
Heh. I’m gonna say it’s Vibius’s second cousin who always has people asking him, “hey, are you related to that big guy in the Blues in Herculaneum?” 😀
