Sketch of the day: Some doodles, some nibs
Wait, what day is this? Did I forget to post something yesterday? It’s not like I don’t have lots of scribbly doodles of Felix with a weird wonky nose, and doodles of lots of feet. Here are some pages from my Rhodia dot-pad (hence all the dots on the paper), as I try out some new pen nibs and a few ink samples. I’ll post a more organised test of the different nibs at some point. And ink tests. The “Encre Authentique,” based on centuries-old formulas, supposedly will last longer than the paper it’s written on.
Can’t tell ya how reassuring it is to see other artists doing this level of pen geekery.
…of course the its fun when someone asks to borrow a pen and they end up with something oddly specialized ’cause you’ve stopped carrying the regular Bics or something! =)
What is this “Bic” you speak of? 🙂
On my commute a little while ago, the man sitting across from me asked to borrow a pen, and I awkwardly explained that my giant, overstuffed case was filled with art pens and brushes. He said, “I understand, I draw too!” Then the nice lady next to him give him a cheap ballpoint to use.
Expect ever-higher levels of pen geekery posted here as the month goes on!
