Sketch (well, image, anyway) of the day: fighting artist’s block
My current method of trying to get over a stall in drawing is to cycle through all the new pens, filling up a little sketchbook with more or less the same pose of a single character. It’s better than staring at my toes.
I’ve also been trying some of Lynda Barry’s art exercises, but I’ll admit to feeling intimidated by them.
Lovely drawings as always. Why not use the sketchbook of pictures of the same character as a chance to make a flipbook? If it works out, then it is something fun to put up here for us to see, if not, then it is a study in the representation of motion.
Thanks! I’m not sure I have the patience to create a flipbook, but I’ll think about it 🙂 I ended up filling about half that Moleskine Volant mini-journal with Iusta drawings over the weekend, sort of zeroing in on a pen + watercolour + pose combination I really liked, then accidentally left it at work, or I’d post some scans tonight. At least, I hope I left it on the desk and didn’t drop it in the street….
