Chapter V: LXXXXVII
I’m experimenting with posting images at a larger size, to see if that helps them look clear and sharp on my screen. Because, on my screen, the digital ones look awful. How does this look to you? Did it take too long to load? Did it mess up the overall layout?
Drawn digitally, lettered digitally, as I don’t have access on the iPad to the font I’ve been using. The hand lettering will be replaced by the font at some point, just to make it consistent and clear.
Wonderful to see this continuing!
Felix, you owe another an offering to Venus
Venus always gets her due.
Whoa! Step very carefully, Felix!
Sometimes he really isn’t cautious enough. Just saying.
Good to read this again
Thanks! I’m going to keep up a 2-to-3-day schedule in December, as exercise for making the habit stick. There’s a lot of story planned out (and history to cover)—and I really want to tell it!
I had no problems with the old size, but the larger images are an improvement!
Had no trouble with loading time.
I bumped up the size of the posted comics a while ago, but I hadn’t made any real changes since. It was way past time for an upgrade!
So wonderful to see new SPRQ images! It loaded fine for me, the layout is OK, and I absolutely love the larger size, I can see so many details in your drawings, I could just stare at them for hours. I particularly like how you draw hands.
Thanks so much 😀 I’ll use this size going forward.
I’ll have to add even more details now 😀
Size is fine!
Is this the same necklace Domititian wore when all heck started to break loose?
And the one Domitia wears to Nonia’s little party? Dang that necklace gets around!
Yes indeedy, the same and the same. I can’t for the life of me remember what specific ancient artefact I based the design on, but there must have been something way back at the dawn of SPQR-Blues-time. I wanted it to be big, clunky, and memorable 🙂
Imperial Rome as post-war Los Angeles?
Felix: You don’t like to be rated yourself.
Domitia: I haven’t met anyone yet that can do it. Any suggestions?
Felix: Well, I can’t tell till I’ve seen you over a distance of ground. You’ve got a touch of class, but, uh…I don’t know how – how far you can go.
Domitia A lot depends on who’s in the saddle. Go ahead Felix, I like the way you work. In case you don’t know it, you’re doing all right.
Felix: There’s one thing I can’t figure out.
Domitia: What makes me run?
Felix: Uh-huh.
Domitia: I’ll give you a little hint. Sugar won’t work. It’s been tried.
Can’t wait to see where this is going…
Well, now it’s going to be hard to resist sneaking in some extra dialogue…
(Chef’s kiss)
images lovely and sharp, and I find new pages too, whee!!
Loaded fast, details are nice and clear. *** But I’m slightly confused. In one page it sounds like she’s asking Felix to give the necklace to Alexander, in the next she tells Felix to wear it so he doesn’t lose it. Is that just until he gives it to Alexander, or… ?
Sorry about that! I meant it to be a “since that dress doesn’t have pockets” sort of thing. 🙂
